Virginia Guaranteed Transfer Admission Programs

Virginia's Guaranteed Admission Agreements (GAAs) are among the most comprehensive in the country — roughly 35+ four-year schools (public and private) partner with the Virginia Community College System. GPA cutoffs and excluded majors vary widely, so pick your target school early.

Course requirements
Complete an associate degree (AA, AS, or AA&S — transfer-oriented) from a VCCS college with the Passport or UCGS general education certificate. Major-specific prerequisites per each GAA.
Deadlines
Sign the GAA Agreement Form (Letter of Intent) BEFORE completing 45 credit hours. Application deadlines match the four-year school's regular transfer deadlines.
Watch out: The most-wanted programs are excluded — UVA McIntire, VT engineering, W&M Mason Business. Sign the Letter of Intent early; students who learn about GAA late often miss it.
Open to in-state and (in some cases) out-of-state community college students
